‘Oppenheimer’ ho peta entre els guanyadors dels Oscar 2024

Els guanyadors dels Oscars 2024 ja tenen noms i cognoms. I la metàfora és obligada…  La bomba Oppenheimer ha arrasat! La 96a edició ha acabat amb 7 premis a la pel·lícula sobre la creació de la bomba atòmica dirigida per Christopher Nolan. El film sobre el projecte Manhattan s’equipara així a produccions històriques com The Schindler list, Dancing with Wolves, Lawrance of Arabia o Patton per posar alguns exemples.

I la satisfacció de Nolan és doble perquè el premi a la Millor Direcció ha estat per a ell. La d’Oppenheimer era només la seva 2a nominació en aquesta categoria després de Dunkirk (2017). I recordem que també va estar nominat a la categoria de Millor Guió per Memento (2002) i Inception (2012). Ara, amb el seu segon film de caràcter històric i allunyat de la ciència-ficció pot lluir un gran palmarès que inclou guardons en altres categories de prestigi.

Els Oscars també han coronat Cillian Murphy com a Millor Actor i Robert Downey Jr. han aconseguit també els seus primers Oscars. Tanquen la llista els guardons a la Millor Fotografia, Millor Banda Sonora i Millor Muntatge. Premis tots ells esperats però no per això menys merescuts.

Poor Things no decep entre els guanyadors dels Oscars 2024

La pel·lícula Poor Things  de Yorgos Lanthimos, ha estat el segon nom més sentit de la nit. En total s’ha endut 4 premis encapçalats per l’Oscar a Millor Actriu Protagonista per Emma Stone. Aquesta nova metàfora amb aires de Frankenstein ha vençut també en les categories de Millor Disseny de Producció, Millor Vestuari i Millor Maquillatge i perruqueria.

Les nominacions amb segell català es queden sense premi

Entre les sorpreses agradables dels nominats als Oscars 2024 hi havia la presència de La Sociedad de la Nieve de J.A. Bayona, tant en l’apartat Millor Pel·lícula Estrangera com a Millor Maquillatge i Perruqueria. Lamentablement, el premi a la Millor pel·lícula internacional ha estat per l’anglesa The Zone of interest de Jonathan Glazer. Aquest premi semblava ja donat anticipadament donat que la cinta sobre la idíl·lica vida dels nazis al costat dels camps de concentració estava també nominada a la Millor Direcció i Millor Pel·lícula. De fet, el film també ha aconseguit el premi al Millor So.

Per la seva banda la coproducció catalana Robot Dreams, de Pablo Berger, no ha triomfat en l’apartat de Millor Pel·lícula d’Animació. En aquest cas, el comiat del cinema del mestre de l’animació japonesa Hayao Miyazaki ha pesat molt. El noi i la garsa s’ha imposat i a ningú no l’ha sorprès la decisió. Miyazaki es retira amb dos Oscars: ja en va guanyar un l’any 2003 per El viatge de Chihiro.

Les grans perdedores i mitges guanyadores

La resta de premis no han deixat massa marge a les sorpreses. En l’apartat de guió Anatomy of a Fall (original) i American Fiction (adaptat) han tingut dos merescuts premis de consolació. Justine Triet i Arthur Harari han fet història pel cinema francès i han demostrat a l’acadèmia del seu país que no triar-los per a competir en la categoria de Millor Film Internacional ha estat un error molt greu. Per la seva banda, Cord Jefferson i la seva deconstrucció de la identitat afroamericana en clau de sàtira ha tingut un debut fulgurant que li augura un camí ple d’èxits en un futur pròxim. The holdovers també ha contribuït a uns Oscars més diversos racialment amb el premi com a Millor Actriu secundària per Da’Vine Joy Randolph. 

Com més o menys tothom s’imaginava el nom de Barbie ha sonat ben poc. La pel·lícula més taquillera del 2023 només ha aconseguit imposar-se a la categoria de la Millor Cançó. Billie Eilish ha aconseguit el seu 2n Oscar pel tema What Was I Made For?. Aquest triomf se suma al ja l’aconseguit l’any 2022 per No time to die. Però si algú té experiència en marxar dels Oscars amb moltes nominacions i cap premi és Martin Scorsese. The Killers of the Flower Moon ha marxat amb les mans buides. Tenia 10 nominacions a l’Oscar! També s’ha quedat sense res Maestro, un film fet expressament per a lluïment personal d’un Bradley Cooper a qui li han vist el llautó.
